What happened

REPOWR and American Truck Business Services announced a partnership on Aug. 21, 2026, aimed at giving independent truckers more flexible access to trailers. FreightWaves reports that ATBS clients can receive discounted member rates for same-day rentals through REPOWR’s network of more than 2,000 locations. The marketplace lists dry van, refrigerated and flatbed equipment; REPOWR customers can also access ATBS tax and business-consulting services.

What drivers should do

Short-term trailer access can help a carrier accept a suitable load without buying equipment or signing a long lease, but the total cost matters. Before reserving, compare the daily or weekly rate, deposit, pickup and drop fees, mileage terms, insurance requirements, damage responsibility, maintenance process and availability at the return location. Photograph the trailer during pickup, document existing defects, confirm inspection status and read the full rental agreement before dispatch.

Why this matters to our community

For Uzbek owner-operators and new small carriers, easier trailer access is a business option—not a guarantee of profit. Confirm that your operating authority, insurance and cargo coverage fit the equipment and load. Calculate expected revenue using loaded miles, deadhead, fuel, tolls, rental cost and downtime. Useful English terms include trailer interchange, damage waiver, security deposit, pickup location, return location and rental extension.
