What happened
FMCSA removed 10 electronic logging devices from its registered list because the providers failed to meet federal minimum requirements. The affected devices and identifiers are Ontime Logs iosix (24b11f), LAST MINUTE ELD (LMN932), Porter ELD (POR247), Zee HOS Compliance (F594EF), EV ELD IOSIX (G711H3), Light and Travel ELD (LNT780), PREMIERRIDE LOGS (PRD391), 2BRO ELD (2BRELD), 305 ELD (2BR305) and TT ELD 40 (TTAH49). Carriers must replace them before Sept. 8, 2026.
What drivers should do
If your truck uses one of these devices, notify the carrier or safety manager now. FMCSA directs users to discontinue the revoked ELD, use paper logs or logging software for required hours-of-service records during the transition, and install a compliant device from the current FMCSA Registered Devices list before the deadline. Preserve required records, confirm the replacement is still registered on installation day, train the driver on login and data transfer, and test that duty-status records display and transfer correctly.
Why this matters to our community
Before Sept. 8, safety officials are encouraged to review paper logs, logging software or the revoked device display as a backup instead of citing solely for no record of duty status or failure to use a registered ELD. Beginning Sept. 8, continued use is treated as operating without an ELD; FMCSA says officials should cite §395.8(a)(1) and place the driver out of service under CVSA criteria. A device may return to the registered list if its provider fixes the deficiencies, but rely only on the current FMCSA list. Useful English terms include revoked device, registered device, record of duty status, data transfer, paper log, citation and out of service.
